How does work flow in this system?

Everything starts with a question from management, entered as a card in the “Question” column: what needs to be known, why, and by when. The lead analyst moves the question to “Collection,” where researchers gather data from its sources — industry reports, competitor pricing, market movements — documenting every figure with its source on the card. Once the material is complete, it moves to “Analysis” to build conclusions and scenarios, then to “Report” in executive format for management. Management's decision based on the report is recorded on the card in “Decision,” and the card stays alive in “Follow-up” to track the decision's impact and update its numbers over time.

This system has no chat — documentation comes first: management's questions are raised and discussed in their forum section, and cards are born from them; approved methodologies and sources are documented in the Forum so no researcher reinvents the method; and summaries of completed studies are published for those who don't have time for the full report. Daily discussion between the analyst and researchers happens in the card comments themselves, tied to its question.

Information flows from management to the team and back: management poses the question, receives the report, and records its decision; the lead analyst distributes collection tasks among researchers and builds the final analysis; researchers submit raw material with documented sources. The result: every major management decision has a card that tells why it was made and what happened afterward.

Who does what?

The operational roles in this system and each role's responsibility in daily work — assign them to your team as-is or adapt them to your reality.

Lead Analyst

Receives management's questions and defines the answer methodology, builds the final analysis and writes the executive report, and tracks decision impact in the “Follow-up” column.

Market Researchers

Gather data from open sources, reports, and interviews in the “Collection” column, documenting every figure with its source on the card.

Management Representative (Question Owner)

Frames the question, its purpose, and the required deadline at the top of the card, and records the decision made based on the report in the “Decision” column.

«Working Rules for This System» — Pinned in the forum

1. Every figure in a report has a source documented on the card — a figure without a source doesn't enter the analysis. 2. The question is framed with its purpose and deadline before collection begins; open-ended questions are not accepted. 3. Reports are written in executive format: the summary first, then details — management reads one page first. 4. Management's decision is recorded on the card in “Decision” within one week of the report's submission. 5. “Follow-up” cards are reviewed monthly to update decision impact — the report doesn't die at delivery.
