School Library & Reading Activity System

Every title entering the library becomes a card in “Title” where the librarian documents its classification, copy count, and suitable age group. When lent to a student the card moves to “On Loan” with the borrower’s name and expected return date, and overdues are tracked straight from this column. After return it moves to “Reading” if the student is in the reading program, where their progress through the book is tracked; then “Reading Activity” when they join a book-related activity — an oral summary, a poster, or a class discussion; then “Assessment” where the teacher or librarian evaluates the student’s comprehension; and finally “Reward” to document points and incentive prizes.

The Forum is the engine of reading culture: a section where teachers and students propose new titles for acquisition, a section for organizing reading activities and competitions between classes, and a section showcasing outstanding readers’ summaries as inspiring models. Documented discussion here builds a library that knows what to acquire and why — instead of random buying once a year.

Announcements breathe life into the system: the month’s most-borrowed book, the reading competition date, reward winners’ names, and lists of overdue books to be returned — all published officially so students and teachers see them together.
